Leading onto a sunny terrace, this living area is part of a larger room, and designed to be a comfortable, compact space in which to relax. Chairs from the 1950s and a Berber rug are lit by a hanging light, also designed in the 1950s.

One obvious way to maximize space in what is otherwise a very small area is not just to use every inch of a sloping wall for bookshelves, but also to have an almost free-floating set of steps up to the rooftop bedroom.

A completely open-space living area, which is orchestrated to the course of the sun; from the windows are different views overlooking Montmartre.
